Temp Mail
Can I choose the prefix of my temporary address?
No. Temporary addresses are generated randomly by the server (a name-plus-number combination that looks like a real person's email). This prevents the address from being guessable by others. If you don't like the current address, click "New address" to get a different one instantly.
My temporary address hit the 24-hour limit — what now?
Each address has an absolute 24-hour ceiling and cannot be extended past it. If you still have mail coming in, swap to a new address and re-register on the sending service. For long-term needs, switch to alias forwarding — aliases have no expiry and can be paused at any time.
Can I recover a deleted message or an expired inbox?
No. Deletions and expiry-based purges are both permanent — the server keeps no backup. Save any important verification codes or message content to your own device before the address expires or before you delete the message.
What is the "Demo" message in my fresh inbox?
It is a sample message that shows you what an arriving email looks like — it is not a real message and does not take up any quota. Real mail appears above it once received. Deleting it has no impact at all.
Someone got hold of my inbox URL — what should I do?
The URL contains the access token for your inbox. Anyone with the link can open it while the address is still alive. If you think the link has been compromised, click "New address" immediately — the old URL is invalidated on the spot.

Alias Forwarding
I'm not receiving the login verification code — what should I check?
Work through these four steps: first, check your spam or junk folder — login codes land there very frequently; second, confirm there are no typos in the email address you entered; third, wait for the 60-second cooldown to expire, then click "Resend"; fourth, if you sent too many requests in a short period, the system will briefly rate-limit you — the page will say so, and waiting a few minutes will resolve it.
My alias prefix was rejected — what are the rules?
Prefixes must start with a letter, be 3–30 characters long, and contain only letters, numbers, dots, hyphens, or underscores. System-reserved names (such as admin and support) and prefixes already taken by another account cannot be registered. If you don't want to think of one, click "Random prefix" or submit the field empty to have one assigned automatically.
What is the difference between pausing and deleting an alias?
Pausing is reversible silence: mail sent while paused is quietly discarded and cannot be recovered, but you can resume forwarding at any time. Deleting is permanent: the address stops working immediately and cannot be reassigned to your account. Use pause when you want a temporary break; delete when you're certain you no longer need the alias.
A legitimate email was flagged as spam — how do I fix it?
Open the message in the archive. The detail view shows the interception reason and spam score. Click "Mark as not spam" — the message is immediately reclassified as legitimate, and that sender will not be blocked again in future.
The archive shows "Failed" for a message — how do I resend it?
Open the message detail and click "Retry forwarding". The page shows the outcome in real time. If retries keep failing, check that your real inbox is functioning normally — for example, verify that storage is not full and that no aggressive filtering rules are rejecting the message.

Account & Security
How long does a login session last?
7 days. After that, you are automatically logged out and will need to verify your email address again. Your aliases and archive remain intact.
I lost my phone — how do I log in without my 2FA code?
If you stored the secret key in a backup authenticator on another device (the key was shown in plain text when you enabled 2FA), use that to recover access. If you genuinely cannot obtain a one-time code, email support@temp77.com from your registered address. We'll verify your identity and assist with account recovery.
How do I permanently delete my forwarding account?
Send a deletion request from your registered email address to support@temp77.com. We will delete all account data — your real email address, all aliases, the full archive, and 2FA settings — and confirm by reply. See the Privacy Policy section 9 for details.
